My Course Reflection

One thing that I have learned to do that I couldn't do at the start of the course was using AI for writing. I always just kind of did it on my own. Never really used AI for anything when it came to schoolwork before this. A specific writing skill that I have developed would be my structuring.  Prior to this class I did not know the sandwich method, but this class helped me develop the structure using it to make me a better writer.  Prior to this my writing was not always in order the way this class educated me to do.  I just kind of wrote my thoughts without thinking about how the paragraphs would be structured.  The most growth I have had in the class would be my portfolio, as one it taught me how to use wix, and I could see my work developing as we went along. 

 

The thing that surprised me the most was that there was an AI that could come up with good sources for your writing. Perplexities existence surprised me because most AI are mentally handicapped. 

 

 I began thinking more before I wrote. Before this I just wrote to get it over with. Now I actually think before I write. A strategy that helped me focus on everything was knowing this is the last time I have to deal with a specific English class in college.  I'm still in high school and I'll have to deal with a high school English next year, but at least for college I'm done. 

The feedback from my instructor was very useful throughout this course. I used it a lot to revise my work, so it was very helpful. I didn't really use much peer review or AI instructions. I see my writing progress the most in my final paper because it used all the tools I learned throughout this course. 

What I would like my reader to notice the most is that I have a lot of opinions on touchy subjects, such as the military budget and political leanings. I enjoyed researching political topics and history. 

 My favorite piece in the portfolio would probably be the final because it shows all my work and my growth as a writer. Like I've stated over and over in this, I really like the final. I hope my work shows that I am deep in opinion and thought on why certain things should be this way or not.  So many things are backwards these days that need to change within our government, society, and culture. So many reforms are required.

 If I had to describe my growth to someone who has not read my writing style before, I would say that it is simple. I have begun learning how to better pace myself in my work and how to think before I write more.
