The Final Project
My final project in English 1530 will be writing an essay on the military budget. Which is my ongoing topic of choice. It will explore the problem for a specific audience, and how they can fix the budget issues. This is accomplished by taking specific action based on their belief in addressing budget issues.
The Action
Through my research on this topic, I have come to the conclusion that to solve the military budget problem voters must elect officials who will cut the military budget. Furthermore, there must be a creation of organizations to find and stop fraud which is found in all parts of the government, but especially in the military. This is because the voters currently have elected many public officials who do not dare to touch the military budget. They cut things from all over welfare investments for the people and exclude the military budget. We must elect officials who will truly cut part of the military budget. And crack down on corruption within the government.
The Audience
The audience I have chosen for this essay is the voters. They are the people who elect government officials who pass the budget bills every year and decide what laws get put into effect. Concerns from this audience are how their taxpayer money is being used and how that taxpayer money is benefiting them. They are very powerful and influential since they are the people who elect lawmakers and judges who interpret the laws that dictate how corruption is dealt with and what the budget will be. Some concerns the voter might have will be of national security, how this will affect them from being protected from outside threats such as terrorists and foreign states.
My Thesis Statement
Voters should elect leaders who will cut down on the military budget and crack down on corruption within the military, hold elected officials to their promises. If the voters do not hold them accountable to those promises will not be fulfilled and the things that the voters elect them to do will not be done.
